Pullman Launches Menopause Policy and Awareness Training

At Pullman, we’re proud to be a company that looks after our people, not just the job they do.

We know that real life doesn’t stop when you come to work, and for many women, menopause can bring challenges that affect day-to-day comfort, confidence, and concentration. That’s not something anyone should have to face without understanding or support.

That’s why we’ve introduced a Menopause Policy, along with Menopause Awareness training on Cademi, our online learning platform, to help every colleague feel informed, supported and understood.

Why we’re doing this

Across the UK, around 13 million women are peri-menopausal or menopausal – that’s about a third of the female population. Six in ten say their symptoms have affected their work, yet almost half wouldn’t tell their employer the real reason if they needed time off.

We want to change that.

Menopause is part of life, and that means it should be part of how we care for our people at work.

What support looks like at Pullman

Our policy gives colleagues the reassurance that help and understanding are available. It also gives managers clear guidance on how to talk about menopause with empathy and how to make small adjustments that can make a big difference. Whether that’s flexible breaks, a cooler workspace, or just time to talk things through.

Our goal is to make sure everyone can perform at their best, feel comfortable at work, and know they’re supported by the people around them.

Awareness for everyone

Alongside the policy, we’ve added Menopause Awareness training on Cademi.

It’s there to help everyone, not just those directly affected, to understand what menopause can involve, why it matters, and how to offer support in the right way.

The course will be open to all colleagues and managers, helping us all create a more understanding and inclusive workplace.

Looking ahead

Our people are what make Pullman, and we’re committed to building a culture that supports them through every stage of life.

It’s another step in what we call being Proudly Pullman – creating a workplace built on respect, understanding, and genuine care for our people.
